Hollywood Producer and Authors Estate Sale

Tom and Lorraine Brodek have sold their long time residence in Studio City and are moving to their ranch in Hana on the Island of Maui. They have a fully furnished home in paradise so all the contents including a life time of collectables, fine antiques, and art is being put up for sale this weekend and this weekend only.

Thomas has enjoyed a very active career as a motion picture and television executive and as a producer for well over fifty years. During this time he helped produce such hits as Honey I Shrunk the Kids (Mexico City) and White Fang (Alaska) for Disney and produced The Principal (Oakland, CA), The Boss’ Wife (L.A.) Tom’s wife, Lorraine, is an award winning and published Landscape Designer, guesting on many gardening shows and in magazines. Among their many outside interests is a passion for turn-of-the-century American antiques. Over the years they have acquired a vast collection of Americana. Their homes in L.A. and on Maui attest to this. His favorite acquisition is a complete collection of early Eastman Kodak cameras.

He has Produced "Stephen King's Storm of the Century” a six‑hour mini‑series (Toronto/Maine/Phoenix/San Francisco) for ABC, “Stephen King’s Rose Red (Seattle), also a six-hour mini-series for ABC, a two-hour movie for ABC, ‘The Diary of Ellen Rimbauer’ (Tacoma) and a 13 episode series for ABC ‘Stephen King’s Kingdom Hospital’ (Vancouver) and the second season of Showtime’s ‘The Tudors’ in Ireland. He has just returned from Budapest having produced the feature film “Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks”, starring Gena Rowlands and Cheyenne Jackson.

Tom joined ABC Productions as Senior Vice President of Production and Post Production in 1990. ABC Productions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Capital Cities/ABC, produced not only for the ABC Television Network but for NBC, CBS, FOX and Lifetime as well. During this time he was responsible for over half‑a‑billion dollars worth of production for halfhour and one‑hour series, mini‑series, two‑hour movies and theatrical movies. These have been filmed in many States, Canada, many European countries, Australia and New Zealand.

In 1986, Tom and his partner, Richard Soames, formed Doric Productions, Inc. to produce studio developed theatrical films, with limited budgets, as negative pick‑up projects. Their first project was The Boss' Wife for TriStar, The Principal, starring Jim Belushi and Lou Gossett, Jr. Honey I Shrunk the Kids was produced through Doric for Disney, and Transylvania 6‑5000, for New World Entertainment.

He also worked as Executive Vice President of Production, Administration and Business Affairs for Mace Neufeld Productions. His career also Includes President of the Television Division of The Petersen Company.

Tom was Vice‑Chairman of the California Film Commission, Board of Directors Entertainment Industry Development Committee and Advisor to the North Britain Film Commission. He is a member of the Producer's branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and a Unit Production Manager of the Director's Guild of America.

Tom is a third generation native of Southern California having graduated from the University of Southern California in film and television. He has two daughters, and he and his wife, Lorraine, reside in Hana, Maui and Studio City, California.
